Why do I need to be saved or “Born Again”?

This is good and pleases God our Saviour, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of Him. — 1Timothy 2:3-4

I tell you the truth; no one can see the Kingdom of God unless He is Born Again. — John 3:3

Why are we baptised in water?

As soon as Jesus was baptised; He went up out of the water. — Matthew 3:16

Repent and be baptised every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, for the forgiveness of your sins. — Acts 2:38

Why do we clap our hands, praise the Lord, and sometimes shout?

Oh, clap your hands, all you peoples! Shout to God with the voice of triumph! — Psalms 47:1

Make a joyful shout to the LORD, all you lands! Serve the LORD with gladness; Come before His presence with singing. Know that the LORD, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations. — Psalms 100:1-5

Why do we lift our hands?

In the Old Testament, one of the Hebrew words for thanksgiving means to extend or hold out the hand. Therefore, we lift our hands as a sign of thankfulness.

Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, My lips shall praiseYou. Thus I will bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name. — Psalms 63:3-4

Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, And bless the LORD. — Psalms 134:2

I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting; — 1 Timothy 2:8

Why do we speak in tongues?

But anyone who speaks in a tongue, does not speak to men, but to God. — 1 Corinthians 14:2

Why do we prophecy?

But everyone who prophecies, speaks to men for their strengthening, encouragement and comfort. — 1 Corinthians 14:3

Why do we fast?

I humbled myself with fasting. — Psalms 35:13

Why do we use so many musical instruments?

It is good to praise the Lord and make music to His name, Oh most High. — Psalms 92:1

Praise Him with the sounding of the trumpet; praise Him with the harp and lyre. Praise Him with the tambourine and dancing, praise Him with the strings and flute. Praise Him with the clash of the symbols. Let everything that has breath, praise the Lord. Praise the Lord! — Psalms 150:3-5

Why do we worship with tithes and offerings?

“Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me! But you say, ‘In what way have we robbed You?’ In tithes and offerings. You are cursed with a curse, For you have robbed Me, Even this whole nation. Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” Says the LORD of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it. — Malachi 3:8-10
